soon

I know, nothing exciting here or in the shop in quite a while. Things are coming! Right now they are all in my head, but I am making room in my life to have time to make them. Then, Excitement!

July update

After a slight hiccup on Thursday (my computer decided that my limited internet access window would be put to better use with a Windows update, blah) I finished uploading most of the patterns I have set aside to sell today. The shop now has poofy, foofy tulle and lace skirts, awesome little felt monsters, and vintage sewing patterns. Haven't decided yet what I'll be putting in this coming week; now back to work!

Getting ready

Activity at the shop has been non-existant, and the pickings are pretty slim right now, so I am planning a huge update for July, in honor of my birthday! So for now I am sewing and crafting and hoping for good light for photos, and doing some seamstress work on the side to pay bills. I will update some here in the interim, but mostly I'll be focusing on getting product ready. Yay! July is going to be awesome!

Sunday Showcase: Kat's Monsters

These amazing little guys are made by my incredibly multi-talented sister, Kat. She makes them from fun fleeces, carefully forming each unique one in a wacky way, and stuffs them with fiberfill. The expressions she stitches on are amazing, and hilarious, and the little details she adds: paw pads on one, a tie on another, really finish them off beautifully.

She even made some monster shirts for my boys, and a few monster onesies; I hope to see a lot more of her work in the future, as not only does she sew but she makes gorgeous jewelery, paints amazing canvases, and is a fantastic actress just beginning to get recognition for her immense talent.

Stay strong Kat, keep making your dreams, and thank you!

welcome to the nava's house blog

Welcome, and thank you for taking an interest in what I do. I have decided to start this blog in order to be more transparent about what I am trying to do creatively and otherwise, in my shop and apart. I hope to impart a little of the process, joy, and reasoning that goes into each item I make.

enjoy!
